Wingfoiling on Bonaire

Bonaire is home to many beaches with calm waters and steady trade winds, making it the ideal place for wingfoiling. This exciting sport combines elements of windsurfing, kitesurfing, and hydrofoiling. Whether you’re an experienced rider or a complete beginner, Bonaire has the perfect spot for you. Advanced wingfoilers will love Atlantis Beach, known for its challenging conditions, while beginners can learn to wingfoil at FX Kiteboarding, which offers excellent lessons and guidance.

What is Wingfoiling?

Wingfoiling is all about gliding above the water. All you need is a wing (a hand-held sail) and a board with a foil, a fin-like structure beneath your board that lifts you out of the water as you gain speed. You start kneeling on the board, holding the wing in your hands to catch the wind. Once you build up speed, you stand up on the board. By tilting the board slightly, the foil lifts it above the water, giving you the feeling of floating. The wing controls your direction, while balance and a steady posture are key to mastering the sport.
